UNAS VACIONES EN AMANA COLONIES.

Realmente fueron unas vacaciones cortas, pero damos gracias a Dios que nos permitió tener ese tiempo, realmente fue muy especial y Andrew tuvo mucho tiempo de diversión en la piscina.
Ahora pienso que es muy importante para los padres puedan salir de vacaciones con sus hijos, pero que el primer objetivo es que nuestros hijos puedan aprender mas sobre Dios y de su amor.
Durante la mañana Tim, yo y andrew teníamos un tiempo de devocional, cantar canciones para niños con movimientos, eso realmente le gustaba a Andrew, el tiempo de oración y meditación de la palabra de Dios, aunque Andrew aun es pequeño y no comprenda mucho, pero sabemos que la palabra esta siendo sembrada en su corazón y en la palabra de Dios dice: instruye al niño en su camino y cuando fuere viejo no se apartara de ella.
Enseñar a un niño en el camino verdadero será algo que habrá de ayudar a nuestros hijos en sus etapas mas difíciles de la vida, porque esa palabra verdadera que es Cristo, habrá de sostenerlo y protegerlo.
Bueno, luego de los devocionales que tuvimos durante nuestro tiempo de vacaciones cortas, era tiempo por salir a pasear y tener tiempo en la piscina, también comer rico durante el desayuno, almuerzo y cena :), sin estar pensando en que cocinar o hacer diferentes cosas que una mama hace cuando esta en casa, y el papa no estar preocupado pensando sobre le trabajo.
Realmente es un tiempo de relajamiento, descanso y diversión.

They showed this video at church today. I think the guy with the guitar is probably an American, and they were in a rough neighborhood in Jamaica and were filming this video. This guy walks up, and starts singing with him.

he's not a baby anymore

You can tell from the photos how much Andrew has grown. He is not a baby anymore, but I think now a toddler. He is almost 17 months.
He is always talking, but we don't really know what he is saying, although sometimes we can figure it out, because he is good at pointing, and taking us by the hand, and leading us to where he wants to go. He says mama, and dada, but that is mostly all we understand. We are looking forward to him being able to say more and more words, and to know what goes on in that little head of his.
Now that the days are warmer, he loves going outside and playing. There is a tree swing out back, and he likes to be swung in that. And I get the riding lawn mower out because he likes to ride with me, and ride around the yard. He likes riding in his wagon, and his favorite toy is his monkey blue, and likes to take that everywhere with him. He has another monkey named YoYo, but he doesn't like that one much. He likes to grab the cordless phone, and act like he is talking into it.
At church, we like for him to go into the nursery, and he likes it as long as one of us is in there with him. Usually during the sermon, Eliana will be in the nursery with him, and I will later tell Eliana about the sermon. Eliana is doing well, and is learning more English, and is able to understand more and more. The people in the church really enjoy having her there.
Andrew has had I think 3 or 4 trips to a clinic for Vaccinations since we came to Iowa. He was caught up in Peru, but has had a lot more since coming here. But he is now caught up for 6 months, and in October will need a second dose of Hepatitis A, and I think that is it until he is 5, except maybe for flu shots.
Our neighbor always has cookies ready, and likes for Andrew to come to her house to eat a cookie. At first Andrew wasn't comfortable, but then Andrew started taking me by the hand, and leading me over to her porch so we could go in and eat a cookie.
Andrew has learned how to drink out of a straw. He took a drink of water, and then spit it out, and it went down the front of his shirt. My mom was watching, and she laughed, and then he wanted her to keep laughing, and so by the time he was done, I think water had gone all the way down into his diaper.
I am very blessed for my wife and son, and the life that God has given me.
