I imagine you have noticed the new change in our blog, and that is thanks to Rhonda. We really like the new template.
Today, Saturday May 3, is the birthday of my father, Santiago. He is 69 years old. Yesterday Tim wondered how old was my father, but I could not remember. I asked my father, and he said 69, and next year 70. I thank God for taking care of my father, and giving him strength.
I also wish to comment on my pregnancy. I often do not feel well, but I hear that is normal, especially in the first months of pregnancy. But I think I have not had the trouble that my sister Matilde had, who did not begin to feel better until the 7th month. I am only 9 weeks, and I do not know what I will go through. I wish very much for the 7th or 8th month.
My sisters tell me that the months pass by quickly, and to just be patient with it.
Now I am having some problems with some clothes that are not fitting me and soon I will have to get larger clothes. My husband and family want to see me with a big stomach, because that means the baby is almost here, and they can talk to and hold the baby.
I like to hear the stories that my mother and sisters have about when they were pregnant. It's good to hear those words because they help me.
The days when I had difficulties with food and smell were terrible, and now when I see women who are pregnant with a baby, I think: ¨they are brave¨. Because now I understand the process that a woman has to go through with the formation of the baby.
Here is the story of this week. I had a cold and was having problems with food and smell, which was really terrible because I could not work well and do other things that I wanted. One night my husband asked me to rub a cream on his back and it is a special cream for muscles. He told me that I should put a bit under my nose, and that would help me with my stuffed up nose. BUT I thought that he said that I should put a little cream in my nose. So after that I put cream on his back, and when I finished I had a little cream on my hands. I put a little in my nose and it was really terrible and my husband was surprised that I did that because he knew that it was painful, and so he helped me to be better. I think that day was the most difficult of all because various things happened to me, but the next day I felt better and today I am much better.
Yesterday I was reading a book about the creativity of parents in child development from the moment it is conceived to 10 years. I think that it is an interesting book and I now know some things that I did not know before and I want to put them into practice.

Eliana, great to hear from you! I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well with your pregnancy. Everyone seems to say the first trimester is the worst, and hopefully that will be the case for you and you'll feel better once you get into the second trimester.
As far as the incident with the back cream...that does not surprise me. He gets that from my Mom. Did he ever tell you the story of when Mom burned his back with cream? LOL. He's just repeating the behavior now.
Got to go..Alex has been in the bathroom an unusually long time, and that's never good...I'd better see what he's doing. Hope you all have a great Sunday.
Hi Eliana,
Tell your dad "Happy Birthday."
I will have to say that when I read your post, I started laughing. I don't know what the stuff was that Tim was putting on his back but I can only imagine. I'm sure putting that in your nose was quite a shock and did not help with the nausea. Now tell me please, did it clear your sinuses. :) It honestly sounds like something I would have done.
I always had morning sickness. With Rhonda I was so sensitive that when Randall would roll over in the morning and start talking to me, it would send me running to the bathroom. It was miserable. It did pass in 3 to 4 months but miserable at the time.
I also had weird dreams when I carried Rhonda....plus my hair turned orange/red in two different spots on my head. I haven't a clue what that was about but then she was born with red hair. Strange.
With Tim, I thought I was going to die with the morning sickness...ha. Paul was better but still sick. I never missed those days when they passed.
I will tell you that with Rhonda, I read to her and talked to her when I carried her. If I was cooking, I would read the recipe to her outloud. Do you know that when she was born, she recognized my voice. How amazing is that. I didn't do that so much with Tim and Paul because I was busy with Rhonda and Tim....but I tried.
We have a sister-in-law that was reading in bed one night when she was pregnant. She had the book propped on her belly. The baby kicked so hard he kicked the book off the belly. He was a stong little guy.
If I'm not mistaken, I think it was Terrie what was rubbing her baby (Devin) and it was his bottom. She would move her hand and he would move his bottom over for her to rub. It is amazing the things these babies do in the womb. I thought it was Terrie but can't be sure on that.
So I do hope your morning sickness passes soon and as the baby grows, you will be able to enjoy he/she more and more as your carry he/she. I will have to say I was ready to have my babies so someone else could carry them for awhile...ha.
Thanks for sharing your stories. Loved, loved, loved hearing about your pregnancy and the fun things that are happening.
Love,
Janet
I did check with Terrie and that was her when she was pregnant with Devin.
